Our Methodology

How we evaluate, select, and recommend AI tools for our users.

Toolhub is an independent AI tool discovery platform. Our mission is to help users find the right AI tools for their needs through transparent, unbiased recommendations. This page explains how we evaluate tools and maintain editorial independence.

How We Recommend Tools

We evaluate AI tools across multiple dimensions to provide balanced recommendations:

  • Functionality: Core features and capabilities that solve real problems
  • Ease of use: Learning curve and user experience quality
  • Value: Pricing transparency and ROI potential
  • Popularity: Community adoption and engagement metrics
  • Maintenance: Active development and support responsiveness

Our editorial team reviews tools regularly. Rankings are determined by objective criteria, not paid placement. The "Trending" and "New" badges reflect genuine community interest based on usage data.

Sponsor Separation

We clearly distinguish between editorial content and sponsored placements.

  • Sponsored tools are labeled with a "Sponsored" badge
  • Affiliate links are marked with a disclosure notice
  • Sponsor relationships do not influence editorial rankings
  • Our sales team and editorial team operate independently

Any tool can potentially be sponsored, but sponsorship never affects our objective evaluation. Users always know when they are viewing sponsored content.

Data Sources

We aggregate tool information from multiple sources:

  • Direct research: Our team tests and evaluates tools firsthand
  • Public APIs: GitHub repositories, community metrics, and open data
  • Partner data: Optional tool submissions from developers
  • User feedback: Community comments and suggestions

We cross-reference data across sources to ensure accuracy. If you notice any incorrect information, please let us know.

Update Cadence

We keep our tool listings current through regular updates:

  • Daily: New tool submissions and trending data
  • Weekly: Rankings refresh and category updates
  • Monthly: Full review cycle for featured tools
  • Real-time: Broken links and pricing changes reported by users

Tool pages show the "Last Updated" date so you know how recent our information is.

Community Involvement

We believe in community-driven discovery:

  • Submit tools: Anyone can submit a tool for consideration
  • Report issues: Help us maintain accurate information
  • Request features: Suggest tools you would like to see
  • Provide feedback: Share your experience with listed tools
